Getting Close to Completion
Our seawalls (aka "bulkheads") are durable, long lasting, and made to stop erosion of land to hold a good foundation for your property and landscaping. Seawalls not only stop erosion, they enable the owner to replace lost soil. The products we use are all marine grade pilings and lumber. We use an average 12" butt piling with a 4" x 8" whaler or 3" x 8" whaler. Ten inch Weatherguard (lifetime guaranteed, hot galvanized double dipped) railroad spikes are used to secure the whalers to the seawall pilings. We place our pilings on 6 foot centers in order to maximize strength. We use a 3/4" galvanized all-thread or a 5/8" all-thread as tie-back rods depending on application. The tie-backs ("deadmen") will be 10' behind the seawall evenly spaced behind and between every pair of pilings. We vibrate down true 2" x 12" or 3" x 12" planks depending on application, with an inside plate of 2"x8" and a top plate made out of 2" x 10" boards. Also available are vinyl seawall products.
